Info
Informed by principles of aesthetics; color, line, shape, form, composition, the works are grounded in a traditional oil painting practice. Subject matter varies and overlaps weaving ideas of place, adolescence, and peripheral vision. Bursting with color and energy, the paintings and drawings balance intensity with the delicate human experience. The works are informed by artists that have come before; Joan Mitchell, Molly Zuckerman-Hartung, Catherine Bernhardt, and many others. Always intrigued by the environment, the works will often reflect the artist’s current location. Dina Cline (b. 1988) is a painter and ceramic artist primarily based on the island of Maui.
